Guy Cinquin Domaine de l'Europe Mercurey Les Chazeaux Vieilles Vignes 2016
This wine is elegant with red fruits are the forefront, however due to its old vines, darker and more powerful fruits such as plums and cooked fruits come in to the mouth. Tannins are present but with age they will reduce. Good for drinking now, but will only get better with age. The 16 vintage is a bit more open and able to be drunk now, again it will get better with age, however it is more open than that of the 15 and will stand up very well even against Cote d'Or reds.
Going with the strong fruits, rich dishes will match well with the wine, as well as stews and casseroles. A boeuf bourguignon would obviously be more than welcome!
